Minding The Body

Often most of us as we grow older and more set in our mindset and in our lifestyle choices lose the fundamental process of relaxation towards homeostasis that our body and mental health needs to regenerate and cleanse. We often turn relaxation into exercise and be too rational or overthink something that just needs us, the ego, to let go of control so that the body can do what it does best; be natural in the environment it is currently in.

Maybe things like walks or hikes in nature, swimming or playing in the water – innocent fun filled activities, non-competitive sports, meditation, chi gung or tai chi, spending time in a sensory deprivation tank, massage, singing and dancing like nobody is watching, smiling or laughing as often as the opportunity is realised and most importantly, learning to be honest and compassionate with our body’s essential needs of eating, exercising, resting and sleeping well will bring forth a being that is wholesome, productive, happy and content.

Whatever we decide to do we do so knowing that practice becomes nature. Lifestyle choices are life choices. Mindsets are settled in the mind and expressed by the body. Change happens in union; microscopically and macroscopically, physiologically and psychologically and is felt and experienced in totality.

I hope that something within the words I have shared with you sparks a kindle within the embers of your realisation and ignite the motivation you need to proactively do what must be done to help you along your journey of self-discovery and letting go of egoic control.

Blessings,
